The city referendum process provides citizens with a <br />vehicle to refer an ordinance passed by the City Council to a vote of the people. The <br />referendum process must be accomplished in a very tight timeframe. California <br />Elections Code Sections 9235-9247 provides the procedures for the municipal <br />referendum process.
