Contract Award for 800 MHz Radios <br />March 20, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />needs. Per a memo dated January 26, 2018 from the Orange County Sheriffs Department a <br />conversion to a new system during 2018 will take place and render the older radios incompatible <br />as they prepare to introduce a new system in 2019. The Police Department will be purchasing an <br />additional 85 APX 6000 radios next fiscal year for use by non-swom personnel. <br />The County of Orange has a contract system in place with <br />MHz Countywide Coordinated Communications System <br />safety and public service organizations across the <br />communication system throughout Orange County. Mot <br />offers the equipment and contract discounted pricing to <br />under the 800 MHz CCCS program. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Motorola Solutions, Inc. called the 800 <br />(800 MHz CCCS), participating public <br />county provide the existing radio <br />Moto Solutions, Inc., the manufacturer, <br />all public agency's in Orange County <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal # 1 Community Safety; Objective # <br />5 (provide high quality Police and Fire/Emergency Medical Services response within the City of <br />Santa Ana). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds in the amount of $80,972.28 are available in the Police Department CDC Center account <br />(01114450-63001), $21,032.36 in the Police Department Communications account (01114465- <br />67200, and $41,270.36 in the Police Department Communications account (01114465-67100) for <br />expenditure in FY 2017-18. <br />CLalentin <br />Acting Chief of Police <br />Santa Ana Police Department <br />EG/RC <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />Francisco Gutierrez V,XL <br />Executive Director <br />Finance and Management Services Agency <br />22A-2 <br />
