Commissioner Rush <br />Congratulated applicants. <br />Requested that the City's award program for Outstanding Historic Preservation <br />Projects be reestablished. <br />Requested that the City increase its efforts to address violations on historical <br />properties. <br />Suggested that the Historic Resources Commission meetings be changed to the <br />second Thursday of the month of each quarter. <br />Would like the Commission to discuss the Historic Property Fee Reduction resolution. <br />Commissioner Murashie <br />Thanked staff and applicants. <br />Welcomed Commissioner Rush. <br />Agreed with Commissioner Rush's suggestion to change the meeting date. <br />Discussed the historical background of a karate dojo business located on Bristol and <br />17th Street; opined that the building in which the business is located in should be <br />considered historic and not be demolished for the Bristol Street Widening Project. <br />Encouraged everyone to attend the Floral Park Home and Garden Tour. <br />Vice Chair Schaefer <br />Welcomed Commissioner Rush and Commission Secretary Bernal. <br />Thanked staff and applicants. <br />Agreed with Commissioner Rush's suggestion to change the meeting date. <br />Encouraged everyone to attend the Floral Park Open Garden Day in May. <br />Would like the Commission to discuss the Historic Property Fee Reduction resolution. <br />Chairperson Christy <br />Shared an e-mail from Leeta Wilhite, member of the Floral Park Historic Committee, <br />regarding resources available to help residents of the neighborhood research the <br />history of their homes. <br />ADJOURNED 5:50 P.M. — The next regular scheduled meeting of the Historic Resources <br />Commission is scheduled for Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. in the <br />Council Chamber, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California. <br />COPE Sarah Bernal <br />Recording Secretary <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 4 APRIL 6, 2017 <br />C-69
