Carter and other Orange County leaders
I have been a resident of Santa Ana for over 30 years, and I am outraged that the other cities in our county are refusing to assist in the
homeless crisis. My daughter, nephews and niece, just like every other child in this city deserve a safe walk to school; clean parks and
public areas. The fact that other cities such as Irvine, Laguna Niguel, and Huntington Beach are not accustomed to dealing with the
homeless issue on a day-to-day basis does not exempt them from bearing their burden in assisting the county with the homeless
situation. Especially when it is their own homeless whom have been brought to Santa Ana for the sole purpose of ridding their
cities and street of the homeless, to then simply add to the homeless population of Santa Ana.
Santa Ana has bore the burden of the homeless for far too long, and the quality of life of Santa Ana residents has suffered long
enough. One city should not carry the burden of an entire county. Therefore, please represent me and the thousands of tax -paying,
voting, and law-abiding citizens of Santa Ana by showing your support on the homeless issue, including legal action in the courts to
force other cities in the County to take action.
Sincerely,
Ana Mondragon
