Steffensen House, located In Washington Square, Is a one-story, single-family residence in the Spanish Colonial Revival <br />style. L-shaped and asymmetrical in plan, the residence is clad in stucco and with a chimney at the south elevation, that is also <br />clad in stucco. The moderate -pitch roof is clad In Dutch -style day tiling. The primary exterior elevation features tripartite wood <br />windows defined by a fixed wood window, flanked on either side by wood double -hung windows with a mutli-light upper sash and a <br />single -light lower sash. Windows at the secondary elevations appear to be mainly multi -light wood casement. The main entry Is <br />situated behind a shed -roof portico, and consists of a segmental -arch door accessed by a two steps, or through the partial -width <br />porch that extends across the west elevation to the south. A contemporary fabric awning extends over the partial -width porch. <br />There are appliques at the primary elevation that appear to be constructed of cast -stone, and include a medallion in the front gable <br />and a floral-embellised cartouche. A small 96 -square -loot addition was attached to the rear of the residence, but due to its location <br />and design does not impact the integrity of the structure.
