Santa Ana's commercial cannabis
ordinances currently allow and regulate the retail sale of medicinal and adult -use cannabis and
testing laboratories where cannabis is tested for cannabinoid content, toxins, and other important
elements to ensure product safety.
Cultivation
Cannabis cultivation is the process by which cannabis plants are grown. Cultivation may occur
inside buildings, outside, or in mixed -light settings such as greenhouses. In Santa Ana,
commercial cannabis cultivation is currently prohibited. The proposed ordinance amendments
would permit and regulate indoor commercial cannabis cultivation only and would leave intact the
provisions that allow cultivation of up to six plants for personal, non-commercial use.
75C-1
