City holds over 90 vacant lots, similar to the Walnut and Daisy property, which could male a tremendous impact in the community's need for economic development. We understand this work entails a lot of learning and effort on behalf of the city and the community and so, el Centro Cultural de Mexico stands ready to assist in such efforts. Community engagement at el Centro means community driven process that are lead by community members and their interests. This includes recognizing the cultural in addition to their educational experience, skills and knowledge in finding solutions to community issues. This involves an entire effort to building both local expertise on issues but also a recognition of local knowledge and cultural experiences that we can build from. We hope to assist and we invite our non-profit colleagues, developers, funders, other agencies and the City of Santa Ana, to provide what resources can be made available for this endeavor. We pledge the support of our own organization to help facilitate development efforts on land acquired by this CLT. Together, we can create sustainable development that benefits all Santa Ana residents.
