We believe in the principles embodied in the Community Reinvestment Act, designed to
encourage commercial, financial, and institutions of all kinds to help meet the needs of
borrowers in all segments of their communities, including low -and -moderate income
neighborhoods. Congress passed this Act in 1977 to reduce discriminatory credit practices
against low-income neighborhoods and encourage sustainability and self-reliance in low-income
communities.
Santa Ana Active Streets Coalition stands ready to assist in such efforts to reduce income
inequality, expanding economic opportunities for low-income residents of Santa Ana. We look
forward to assisting THRIVE Santa Ana and the Santa Ana community in fulfilling this mission.
Sincerely,
Rosario Galeas
Chair, SAAS'Leadership Committee
