Appoint a member to the Public Safety, Code Enforcement and Neighborhood Empowerment
Committee and confirm appointment of Councilmember Benavides to the Economic
Development, Infrastructure and Technology Committee.
On February 21, 2017, the City Council reviewed and appointed members for a two-year term
to the various council committees. On May 22, 2018, Councilmember Benavides submitted
his resignation on the Public Safety, Code Enforcement and Neighborhood Empowerment
Committee and expressed an interest in being considered to serve on the Economic
Development, Infrastructure, Budget and Technology, since they currently have two members
serving. All appointments require majority approval by the City Council. Also, with the
resignation on the Public Safety, Code Enforcement and Neighborhood Empowerment
Committee, there is an opportunity for another member to be appointed to serve on that
committee. Council committees may have 2-3 members and no member of the City Council
may serve on more than two (2) committees.
