NOTICE OF SECOND READING OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE

The City of Santa Ana encourages the public to participate in the decision-making
process. The following notice is being provided so that you can ask questions,
make comments and stay informed about changes in land use, fees or other
projects that might be important to you. We encourage you to contact us if you
have any questions.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN - The City Council of the City of Santa Ana will
consider adopting an ordinance in order to comply with California Assembly Bill 1414.
Compliance with AB1414 will include: revising the definition of "solar energy system" to
specify that a design feature additionally includes any photovoltaic device that is
integrated into a building, expanding to building components including, but not limited
to, windows, siding, and roofing shingles or tiles, establishing revised maximum permit
fees for solar energy systems, establishing maximum permit fees for thermal energy
systems, extending the applicability of the limits on solar energy system fees and
extending the repeal date to January 1, 2025. Compliance with AB1414 will reduce the
current Residential Rooftop Solar flat fee of $500 to $450. The title of the ordinance is
as follow:

UPDATING SOLAR STREAMLINING ORDINANCE FOR SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS
