Agenda Item 85A- Form 602
Mayor, Council, and City Manager ... On tonight's agenda item 85A, I urge you to explore this item to its fullest. Business
owners, especially new ones, have many forms to fill out and become aware of. The more information that you can
provide to business owners, the better although due to the amount of information that new businesses have to digest, I
am worried that this form would get lost in the shuffle since it is not required. I would suggest that you not only provide
Form 602 but also include an easy to understand and informative one -page document explaining what the Form will
allow police to do and what the business owner should expect in return. It is very important to set expectations and to
communicate in a way that the business owner will understand Form 602, have the information to determine if it is
appropriate for their own business, and how to fill the form out. In return, I urge the city and PD to make sure that if
they have the Form on file, that they also follow through with the intent of the form.
