Subject: regarding the proposed 7-Eleven
Hello Mr. Orozco,
My name is But Nguyen and I am the owner of the property 820 N Euclid St, Santa Ana, CA 92703
I live directly across the street from the proposed 24-hour 7-Eleven store and gas station.
I have reviewed the project plans and look forward to the project being constructed.
Our community would benefit from having that existing corner property finally developed and would benefit
from the convenience of having a 24-hour 7-Eleven store and gas station within walking distance.
I met with Adan Madrid the other day and he told me 7-Eleven will not be selling beer and wine at this store
location, which is yet another reason why the City Council should approve this project and another reason why
the proposed 24-hour convenience store would be welcomed in our community.
Please approve the project
Thank you
But Nguyen

To whom it may concern:
I am a homeowner and resident of the City of Santa Ana at the above address. I am writing to you today
to give my input regarding the proposed 7-11 project at the southeast corner of Hazard and Euclid in the
City of Santa Ana. I have supported this project since it was presented to the planning commission. I
attended those meetings and spoke in favor of the project. I also saw the project evolve as the
developer took input from both residents, like myself, and the planning commission.
I grew up in the neighborhood and I was able to experience the previous convenience store that was at
the proposed project site. Since its closure the area no longer has an accessible convenience store for us
to easily reach, let alone a 24 hour location. Locations like 7-11 take on a vital role for our
neighborhoods due to their ability to provide essentials like food, drinks, toiletries, women hygiene
products and much more. These items, that cannot be bought at other places late at night or on
holidays, would become accessible to residents in the area.
When the previous location was operating, I would make my stops there on my way home from school.
Even with traffic coming in and out of the location there was never any safety concerns. Thanks to the
traffic patterns I was able to safely cross the street and reach the convenience store after school. It also
served as safe location to be picked up from by my parents. I am now fortunate enough to live directly in
front of this location.
Since the departure of the family owned convenience store the property has been invaded by
transients. By approving this 7-11 project, you will bring positive activity and lighting to the area. The
planning commission even worked with the developer to plan the landscape to help deter graffiti and
transients loitering. From my understanding it seems residents from Garden Grove have come against
this project. Although it is neighborly to take the input of those nearby, they are still not residents of the
City of Santa Ana. The job of those working for the City of Santa Ana is to represent the people of the
city not those of neighboring cities.
Please vote in favor of this project and take the vote of the planning commission into consideration.
That is the purpose of the commission and they too heard from the residents.
Sincerely,
Omar Dominguez

Subject: Proposed Service Station at 813 N. Euclid Street, Santa Ana, CA
Categories: Correspondence
RE: Project Applicant - Adan Madrid with ASI Development, representing 7-Eleven, Inc.
Conditional Use Permit No.: 2019-21
To: Santa Ana City Council
This development would directly impact my property since I live caddy -corner to the site the Project Applicant is
proposing to build on. I, and most of the homeowners in the Garden Grove Collection Association, do not want this
project to go through as it would negatively affect the environment and property values around the area with gas fumes,
including various carcinogenic hydrocarbons, and bringing in crime to the area.
This can already be seen and felt at the 7-11 gas station and convenience store on the corner of Euclid and Trask, in
Garden Grove, CA, just a mile north of this site location (13472 S Euclid St). They constantly get robbed, sometimes at
gun point, there are drug dealers who sell drugs on the property who never get trespassed by the store, and there are
always groups of loiters looking for trouble with pedestrians and locals passing through that area.
Furthermore, there is already another 7-11 on the corner of Euclid and First Street, % of a mile south of this site (5210 W
1s` Street, Santa Ana, CA, 92703), including a 76 gas station with its own convenience store on the same
intersection. Also, there's a convenience/liquor store on the corner of Euclid and Westminster. Along this main corridor
(Euclid Street), there are already 4 convenience stores within 0.75 miles of each other, 2 of which are 7-Elevens. The
"Convenience Store" category is already highly saturated in this area and will not get the support and business it thinks
it's going to be getting. Please seriously consider dropping project. It will and likely is already meeting strong opposition
from the residents of this area.
Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this email.

RE: Project at 813 North Euclid St.
As a concerned local citizen, I am against the proposed project for the following reasons:
1. There are already 4 gas stations and 4 convenience stores located less than a mile from the site of the project. We don't
need more.
2. This is mainly a residential area. The construction of the project will produce all kinds of pollution to the area (such as
noise and toxic fumes among others) and bring more vehicles to the area (creating more traffic and pollution).
3. Gas stations and convenience stores open late into the night and may be even 24 hrs. This is not the kind of business
that should be open in such close proximity to residential areas and disrupt our resting hours.
I hope you take these points into high consideration, thank you.
Sincerely,
Kritanat Purananda

7-Eleven Convenience Store
Correspondence
My name is Diana Lerich, and I am a mother of 3. I understand that opening a convenience store may have its appeal,
but I am a concern citizen who lives within the community. Having a store that is so close to residential areas and a public
elementary school poses so many threats especially it being open 24/7. It is not safe to have such a convenience store so
close by where it would warrant threats of those who are up to no good at odd hours of the night. I am concern for mine,
my husband's and children's safety while they are at school and while we are home sleeping at night. I must reiterate that
this is an awful idea to build such business in this nearby area. We already have so much going on in our community, and
I really hope that as a community, our voice is going to be heard about this 7-eleven being built.
Thank you,
Diana Lerich

This is in regards to the 7-Eleven Convenience Store and Service Station located at 813 North Euclid Street in
the Community Commercial (C-1) zone. Hearing set for Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 5:45p.
I am 100% against this project as I believe a 24 hour, 7 days a week Convenience Store and Service Station will
bring trouble and harm to the area. I live within close walking distance as I received the letter to submit my
comments on this matter. I have two young children and one goes to the elementary school that's a few minutes
walk from this location. I believe a 24/7 establishment will open the doors to more possible crime and loitering
to the area. When I was looking at houses to buy with my husband, we wanted an area away from gas stations
and convenience stores. We would not have purchased our house if this convenience store and service station
was already there. I do not want more reason to fear for my children's safety and do not want an establishment
that's 24/7 within walking distance. This convenience store will be selling alcohol and cigarettes, and that is not
something that should be near any school let alone an elementary school. Many neighbors on my street do not
speak English and are not the home owners so I fear that there won't be as much response against this project as
there should be. A service station will also bring more traffic to this main street and I fear more accidents,
especially when kids are walking to and from school, will happen. We have already had small issues of theft
and vandalism, and I can only imagine it would be worse with alcohol readily available at all hours of the night.
Nothing good happens in the middle of the night and I do not want to have to be concerned about higher
activities from lOp-5a next to my home. I do not see anything good from this and do not want this to
happen.

City Council Meeting July 21
Hello. Recently, an individual came to my door asking for my signature to approve the 7-Eleven
store on Euclid and Hazard. Sadly, my knee jerk response caused me to sign the petition. Upon
reflection, I wish I could remove my name. I live half a block away and already see problems
with homeless encampments on Hazard and Euclid, many car thefts, sweatshirt hooded
strangers passing by within my neighborhood, frequent overhead police helicopters asking us to
remain indoors .... Students from the nearby middle school walk home past the corner of
Euclid and Hazard.
Without looking up statistics, I would lay money on the crap table and win if betting on the 24/7
store attracting more unfavorable issues. I understand there is a shortage of police in the
Santa Ana Department. This store will add to the roster of their dangerous duties.
MY VOTE I5 AGAINST THE STORE ALTOGETHER.
Thank you for the opportunity to register my opinion.
Regards,
