RE: Item 5-Proposed development of property at 1109 N. Broadway, aka One Broadway Plaza
Susan Van der Roest and I are long-time home-owners and residents of Washington Square.
We strongly oppose the approval of this project in its present form.
The EIR and Traffic Mitigation Plan that you want to RE-APPROVE is from 2004! We are MYSTIFIED why the City Atty says new
ones are not required! Things have changed significantly in this area in the past 16 years, so those plans are obsolete. We believe that a
NEW EIR and TRAFFIC MITIGATION PLAN are ABSOLUTELY NEEDED before this plan is approved!
Now with the addition of residential units, traffic going and coming at peak and off-peak hours will be significantly increased. You don’t
need a study to determine that. The present plans are COMPLETELY INADEQUATE to address this issue and represent a significant
threat to the safety and quality of life of residents & businesses in the surrounding neighborhoods.
We urge you to vote against approval tonite and demand a new EIR and Traffic Mitigation Analysis.
