PUBLIC COMMENT – PLEASE READ ALOUD DURING PUBLIC HEARING
My name is Mark Beythoun and I am an orange county resident and frequent visitor to the city
of Santa Ana. I have known Mike Harrah for 20 years both professionally and personally. As a
local business icon and philanthropic leader and the only person to ever win the prestigious
William Spurgeon Pioneer Award, Mike Harrah should be applauded for what he has done and
is doing for the City of Santa Ana, and Orange County.
It seems like this project has been ongoing for ages and I am in full support of it moving
forward.
Imagine the skyline with a beautiful 37 story building in Downtown Santa Ana, 3,000 new jobs,
a 2 – 3 year build with all the benefits that this will bring to the City of Santa Ana. All locally
ordered materials, housing, jobs, taxes for the city – WOW! Mr Harrah should be welcomed
with open arms, let’s get this thing built!!!
On top of everything, it will be privately financed! It’s a no-brainer!
With a mixture of residential and office space this will mean a lot less traffic/cars than if the
building were solely used for office space. How great being able to live and work in the same
place!
I am in full support of One Broadway Plaza moving forward! We should allow the changes Mr.
Harrah is requesting. Mixing work space and residential is the way forward. Santa Ana would
be like Downtown LA!
Sincerely,
Mark Beythoun
