RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. The Mayor calls for nominations for Mayor Pro Tern position.
2. Close nominations for position.
3. The Mayor declares the result of the election.
DISCUSSION
Pursuant to Santa Ana Charter Section 405 and Municipal Code Section 2-101, the newly elected
City Council shall elect a Mayor Pro Tern who shall act as Mayor during the absence from the City
or disability of the Mayor, or during any vacancy in the Office of Mayor until otherwise filled in
accordance with Section 403 of the Santa Ana Charter.

There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
