Santa Ana!" They developed surveys, created GIS maps, led community outreach, prepared Active Transportation Grant Applications for Bike Lanes. Youth Led% • Educational Workshops • Bike Safety Training Goal: To Reduce Collisions Special Thanks to: Bike It! Santa Ana --youth team worked with Kidsworks, Santa Ana Active Streets (SAAS), Latino Health Access and the community to help define this Protected Bikeway Pro"ect and advocate for safe access to active transportation in their neighborhoods. Youth (junior to high school age) helped obtain this ATP grant and identified it as one of the top three proposed bike lanes. New Protected Parkin: Implemented the City's first Protected or "Floating" Parking to separate the Bikeway 1-5 HOV Central Corridor Project (SR-55 to SR-22) LA Engineered HOV Main Street Ramp Demolition ended promptly at 4:00 am with the final thump of the last piece! i 0 -74 ILI _ I r CITY OF SANTA ANA, PUBLIC WORKS AGENCY, 20 CIVIC CENTER PLAZA, SANTA ANA, CA 92702 9 LA E 1-5 HOV Central Corridor Project AHEAD (SR-55 to SR-22) Key Project Facts: ■ In coordination with OCTA and Caltrans, this project won State level project partnering awards and an ASCE Award. $41.5 M project, received federal and Measure M funds, also known as OC Go, Orange County's half -cent sales tax for transportation improvements. ■ Implemented a 2nd Carpool Lane in each direction from SR-55 to SR-57— completed early 2021. ■ Helps speed up commutes and alleviate bottlenecks on 1-5 in Santa Ana Santa Ana -Delhi Channel Diversion Project Santa Ana -Delhi Channel Diversion Project Total Project Cost: $10 M Multi -jurisdictional water quality improvement project reduces Newport Bay watershed pollutants and enhances local water supplies. Unique in -channel diversion and trash capture system that diverts approximately 2.9 million gallons -per -day (MGD) of dry -weather urban runoff from the Channel for water treatment and reuse. In Partnership With City of Newport Beach, City of Costa Mesa. County of Orange (Diange County Flood (-- ontrol District. Grange County Water District, Irvine Ranch Water District. Defend the Bay (Non Profit) f. Winner of APWA Award A QualityImprovementsof Life In Partnership with the Cities of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, the County of Orange, Orange County Flood Control District, Orange County Water District, and Irvine Ranch Water District with support from "Defend the Bay" non-profit ■Helps improve regional water self-reliance to combat climate change. ■Reduces both visible and non -visible pollutants to Newport Bay, while improving the water quality in the Bay and at the nearby beaches ■Enhances recreation and protects the beneficial uses of the Bay, and the reduced Selenium helps protect wildlife. ■Reduced bacteria in the Bay and nearby beaches improves conditions for swimmers, and reduces nutrients that can contribute to harmful algal blooms ■Project's trash capture system helps prevent trash from getting into the Bay during dry -weather and first -flush storm conditions. ■Increases local potable water supplies through the diversion of 2.9 MGD of dry -weather urban runoff from the Channel for advanced treatment and reuse. ■Diverted water is used by OCWD for groundwater recharge and/or injection into the salt -water intrusion barrier.
