Guidance from the State
• For fully vaccinated people, face coverings
are not required outdoors except when
attending crowded outdoor events.
• For unvaccinated people, face coverings are
required outdoors any time physical
distancing cannot be maintained.
• In indoor settings outside of one's home,
including public transportation, face coverings
continue to be required regardless of
vaccination status.

• Wear a face covering when you are around other people who are not
in your household and cannot stay 6 feet apart, especially when
indoors.

— Swimming, walking, hiking, bicycling, or running alone or with household

• Who doesn't have to wear a face covering-
- Children under 2
— Anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or
otherwise unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance
— Individuals with a medical condition, mental health condition or
developmental disability that prevents them from wearing a face covering

Orange County Set to Close All Large

•PIRe County of Orange will close its four vaccine
points of distribution (PODs) on June 6.
— The locations set to close are: Anaheim Convention
Center, Soka University, OC Fair & Event Center, and
Santa Ana College.
— Demand for the vaccine has dropped since the end of
April, as stated by O.C. Officials.
— Vaccinations will now primarily be available through
pharmacies, doctor's offices and mobile vaccine
clinics.

Orange County Vaccination Data
• Orange County has administered over 2.7 million
vaccines doses as of early May, according to California
Department of Public Health data.
• 700,000, including first and second doses, have been
distributed since April 15, when all Orange County
adults and workers became eligible.
• According to the OC Health Care Agency, 1.2 million
people in the county have been fully vaccinated,
receiving both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine,
or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Pfizer Vaccine Authorized for Use
in Youth Aged 12-15
• As of May 10, the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) has expanded the
emergency use authorization for the Pfizer
vaccine to include adolescents 12 through 15
years of age.
• This decision was made after the FDA
decided that the known and potential benefits
of the vaccine in these young individuals
outweigh the known and potential risks.

Hotline Effectiveness
• Santa Ana launched a hotline in August 2020 that
has helped residents with COVI D-1 9-related
matters.
• Residents received assisted in making vaccine
appointments, obtaining information about COVID-
19 testing and pandemic -related resources such as
rental assistance.
• There have been 17,616 calls since August 2020,
and 4,061 in 2021 alone.
