PUBLIC HEARING - Legal notice was published in the Orange Counter Reporter on April 17, 2020
and notices were mailed at least 10 days prior to the meeting.

1. CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2020-08 – Jerry Guevara, Case Planner.
LOCATION: 1900 East Seventeenth Street located in the Arterial Commercial (C5) zoning
district.
REQUEST: The applicant is requesting approval of a conditional use permit to allow the
construction of a new 60-foot tall major wireless communications facility disguised as a
mono-pine.

Case Planner Guevara provided a staff presentation. Discussion ensued regarding coverage
area.
Recording Secretary reported that no written correspondence was received for this item.
Chair McLoughlin opened the Public Hearing. The applicant spoke in support of the matter
and answered questions regarding coverage area and community outreach. There were no
other speakers and the Public Hearing was closed.
MOTION: Adopt a Resolution. A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2020-08 AS
CONDITIONED TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW 60-FOOT TALL MAJOR
WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY LOCATED AT 1900 EAST SEVENTEENTH
STREET.

REQUEST: The applicant is requesting approval of a conditional use permit to allow a
Type 41 (On-Sale Beer and Wine – Eating Place) Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC)
license for the sale of beer and wine for on-premises consumption at a new restaurant
(Raising Claws).
MOTION: Adopt a Resolution. A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2020-12 AS
CONDITIONED TO ALLOW THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FOR ON-
PREMISES CONSUMPTION AT RAISING CLAW LOCATED AT 3390 SOUTH BRISTOL
STREET

Chair McLoughlin thanked everyone for their efforts.
