What is the name of the neighborhood where you reside?
West Floral Park
How do you describe your community to someone who hasn't visited? What streets/boundaries define
your community?
The streets that define my community is the houses that are north of 17th Street, and that we live in a single
family houses that have been built in the 1950's and earlier that have alot of pride in ownership. Each house is
unique and different from the other with tree lined streets.
What are the major cultural/recreational/educational/religious institutions in your community?
We have Santiago School, Jack Fisher Park, Morrison Park, the Discovery Cube and Bowers Museum all in our
neighborhood that are walking distance.
Does your community have major geographical boundaries/features (freeways, parks, lakes, mountains)?
The 5 Freeway. 17th street and Bristol feels like a major boundary, and main Street on the other side of the
neighborhood. There is not a difference in my eyes nor my neighbors between west floral park, floral park and
Jack Fisher. Itis viewed as 1 neighborhood.
Do you have concerns about the current boundaries of your Ward?
Yes I do not feel that the ward district lines should separate between west floral and floral park. These
neighborhoods are intertwined with events and proximity. This does make sense. Our neighborhoods share
neighborhood events, garden tours as well as concerts, parent groups.
