What is a COVID-19 Vaccine Booster?
•A COVID-19 booster shot is an additional dose
of a vaccine given after the protection by the
original shot decreases over time.
•Normally boosters are administered after
immunity from initial dose wanes.
•The booster is designed to help people
maintain their immunity for longer.

Who is Currently Eligible?
•People 65 years and older
•People aged 18 years and older:
–With underlying medical conditions
–Who live in long-term care settings
–Who work or live in high risk settings
–2 months after receiving Johnson & Johnson
–6 months after receiving either Pfizer or Moderna

Other Information
•It is safe for individuals to receive a COVID-
19 vaccine booster or additional dose that is
a different brand than the initial dose or
doses.
•You are still fully vaccinated without a
booster.

•Human Resources shared a survey with City
employees.
•The two-question survey asks for
employees to self-report their vaccination
status and their bargaining group.
•The survey closes this Friday.
