What is the name of the neighborhood where you reside?
Floral Park
How do you describe your community to someone who hasn’t visited? What streets/boundaries define
your community?
I think of the boundaries of the Floral Park neighborhood as from 17th Street to Riverside Drive and from
Flower Street to Broadway. It is a very cohesive neighborhood of vintage homes in which homeowners take
pride, and has a very high level of community participation.
What are the major cultural/recreational/educational/religious institutions in your community?
The Floral Park Neighborhood Association is the main force behind the cohesiveness of the neighborhood. The
neighborhood association sponsors (or did pre-Covid) a home and garden tour which has a very high level of
community volunteer participation and attendance from throughout Orange County and beyond. It also
maintains the Sarah Mae Downey herb garden, which was often tended by Mrs. Adeline Walker during her
lifetime. Mrs. Walker was the founder of the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society and President of the
Santa Ana Garden Club.
Do you have concerns about the current boundaries of your Ward?
No, it seems reasonable.
