Subject: Santa Ana Redistricting Public Comment Submission - In support of newly submitted
SARC map and Map L
Dear Santa Ana City Council,
My name is Indigo, a resident of Santa Ana's Ward 1, and I am in support of the newly submitted SARC map
and Map L proposed by the Santa Ana Redistricting Committee. The newly submitted SARC map keeps
important communities of interests together. These include keeping the South Coast Metro area whole. It also
brings together similar neighorboods associations such as Santa Ana Memorial Park, Wilshire Square, and
Heninger Park. This map also provides substantial representation to environmentally impacted communities
such as Delhi and Madison Park by creating an environmental justice (EJ) district. Because of this, I strongly
advocate for the Santa Ana city council to adopt either of these maps.
Sincerely,
Indigo

Hello, Mr. Mayor Sarmiento and Councilmembers, my name is Anabel Parra and I have been a resident of the city of

not represent my Community, but rather they protect the interest of the Councilors seeking re-election,therefore these
revisions do not represent a commitment to the community. Thank you for your hard work and commitment. Sincerely

Good afternoon Mr Mayor and members of the Council. My name is Araceli Robles and I live on First and Orange streets.
I have lived in Santa Ana for 20 years. This petition is to ask you to support the map proposed by the SARC coalition, this
would allow resources to reach the communities of interest, the most vulnerable and with less resources. It is a shame
to see that you only care about your political career and leaving out the needs of our community and that unfortunately
you see the community as just a map that has no life or faces of our families!! I remind you that you are public servants
and you are in those chairs because we think that you would protect the community. It is time for you to do the right
thing.Thanks

Gracias

Subject: Santa Ana Redistricting Public Comment Submission - In support of newly submitted
SARC map and Map L
I'm Niko Le, a resident of Santa Ana's Ward 1, and I am in support of the newly submitted SARC map and
Map L proposed by the Santa Ana Redistricting Committee. These maps center the interests of low-income
Latinx residents by drawing a district around their communities so that their voices can be amplified. The
emphasis on residents of mobile home parks and apartment complexes, where a considerable proportion of
Latinx households reside, will further support the interests. As a result, I strongly advocate for the Santa Ana
city council to adopt either of these maps.

Subject: Redistricting Maps
Good Afternoon/ Evening Mayor and Council members,
My name is Jasmin Mendoza. I am a Santa Ana Resident that lives in Ward 2.
1 would like to share with you all who and where my community of interest is located. The area I live in is
composed of homeowners, renters, small businesses, parks, schooling, and more. The diversity in the
community is a small part of what makes Santa Ana so great.
I support the Santa Ana Redistricting Coalition's draft maps L2 and M.
As a supporter of these draft maps, I recognize that these maps raise the voices of immigrants, renters, low-
income families, and mixed-status families. Additionally, it raises critical issues related to environmental justice,
such as the widespread contamination of soil with lead. Santa Ana's Maps L2 & M provide the opportunity for
community members to feel empowered.
Even though I support maps L2 and M, I do not believe the proposed maps F and K will benefit local
communities at all. Maps F and K only provide dilution of community voices. The very same ones who voted
for you.
I urge you to consider moving forward with maps L2 and M.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Jasmin M.

Subject: March 11,2022 Special City Council Meeting on Redistricting
I found it disingenuous to hear at the March 7t" City Council meeting that the public may still submit
redistricting maps. If maps are still being accepted then why do we not see them listed in the March 11,2022
City Council Agenda? The City Council, with the assistance of Redistricting Partners, redrew five maps at the
March 7t"meeting. These five maps, along with the breakdown/analysis, are included in the March 11, 2022
City Council agenda. A map submitted on February 25,2022 has not been included or evaluated. Nine
additional maps have been submitted since the March 7t" meeting and they too are not included in the
agenda. I assume these will gather dust as well.
Your voiced concerns about the lack of community participating ring hollow when you do not recognize the
efforts of those who are participating. Is it really that the community is not participating or that you do not
like what the community has to say?
The number of neighborhoods that will have more than one councilmember representing them is not being
published. I see no reason to take the time to determine this since it was obvious at the last meeting it is not a
concern of the council.
So much for being open and honest.
Sincerely,
Usk 4.It

My name is Daniel Vasquez and I support the maps SARC 1 & SARC 2 as a resident of Santa Ana's Ward 1.
These maps are crucial to the fair representation of the city's mobile home park residents. As one of Santa
Ana's few remaining affordable housing options, mobile home parks provide an indispensable service to the
city's low-income families. In order to support these communities and ensure their housing needs are met,the
voices of mobile home park households must be heard and prioritized. Adopting these maps will be a step
forward in that direction.
