Subject: Honoring Helen Shipp
This letter is in support of recognizing the achievement of Helen Shipp, an African American woman,who took it upon
herself,to want her family as well as her community,to take part in the history, heritage and roots of the black culture.
Many of us have thoughts and dreams, but few put them into action.
Helen Shipp did, so with this, since 1979, the city of Santa Ana has continued HER dream.
It is only fair that the city of Santa Ana recognize Helen Shipp,for being a pioneer,to a festival,that the city continues to
celebrate to this day.
I support the Ceremonial Street Naming in her honor.
