MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is entered into between the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) and
the City of Santa Ana on behalf of the Santa Ana Police Department. The terms of this MOU are as follows:
1. The BAR agrees to furnish the Santa Ana Police Department with a 2015 Subaru WRX STI E number 4QUK740.
2. This MOU shall remain in effect until May 9, 2022. The BAR may cancel this MOU at any time.
3. Santa Ana Police Department agrees to return this vehicle to the BAR Fontana Technical Training unit on or before
May 9, 2022. If additional time is needed, Recipient understands that a revised MOU will need to be completed.
4. Santa Ana Police Department agrees that this vehicle will be used for the sole purpose to facilitate their investigation
and not for general use.
5. Any changes to the vehicle's registration status MUST be coordinated through the Forensic Documentation Program
Support Unit at (916)255-3487 or(916)255-4437.
6. Any accident, damage or mechanical problem or malfunction related to this vehicle shall be reported immediately to
the BAR Forensic Documentation Lab.
7. Repairs to this vehicle shall only be performed by the BAR Forensic Documentation Lab.
8. Prior to each use, Santa Ana Police Department shall ensure that the engine oil and coolant are at their proper levels
and the tires are inflated to their proper air pressure. Recipient shall check gas gauge to ensure adequate fuel and return
car with same amount of fuel.
9. Santa Ana Police Department agrees to maintain the required entries in the vehicle's Monthly Travel Log. By the
second business day of the month, Santa Ana Police Department agrees to forward a copy of the completed
Monthly Travel Log for the previous month to the BAR Forensic Documentation Lab.
10. During the term of this MOU, all costs, as the result of any loss (i.e., damage, a collision, theft of vehicle or contents)
shall be paid for by the Santa Ana Police Department. In the event of total loss or destruction of the vehicle, Santa
Ana Police Department shall reimburse the BAR the value of the vehicle as determined by the median Kelley Blue
Book value in effect at the time of the loss. Santa Ana Police Department shall also ensure that any required
report(s) are completed and filed, with a copy of the report(s) being forwarded to BAR.
11. Santa Ana Police Department shall ensure that their employee(s) and operator(s) assigned to this vehicle will comply
with the terms of this MOU.
12. Santa Ana Police Department and its agency(s), employee(s), and operator(s) shall hold the BAR harmless for any
actions or mishaps ensuing from the use of this vehicle.
13. Recipient acknowledges that vehicle was equipped with the following list of supplemental items:
