Subject: Adding green curbs
Hello,
I am an employee in the city of Santa Ana who has family members that live in the city. I have noticed a constant
problem in Santa Ana that tends to target low income communities (especially those areas that are densely populated
with apartment complexes). Those streets are always crowded and full of cars. This means if someone were to stop to
load/unload passengers in these areas they would risk getting a parking citation since Red curbs are the only spaces
available.
Therefore, I am looking to have the city add small sections of Green curbs that would allow people to stop for a short
amount of time in these areas. This way residents that already have financial hardships, aren't being targeted with
parking tickets just because there is not a designated loading/unloading zone.
(The areas I am addressing in particular are spaces in front of apartments along Raitt Street, Bishop street and Ross)
