provide a more accurate estimate of your City's Net Cost for the upcoming fiscal year.

For the past three fiscal ears 2019-20 through 2021-22 OC Animal Care has maintained

a flat budget totaling $13,673,469. For FY 2022-23, the estimated Net Cost total for all

Contract Cities and the County will increase by 10.98% to $15,174,996. This increase is

directly related to filling critical positions to meet the demand for services. The budget was

not increased in light of uncertainty due to the COVID19 pandemic despite a rise in the
Consumer Price Index (CPI) of approximately 8.49% over the last two years.
As stated in the Agreement for Provision of OC Animal Care Services between the City and
County, the most recent animal care services fees approved by the County Board of
Supervisors on July 17, 2018, shall be used to determine each Contract City's Net Cost of
Animal Care Services.
Each Contract City's actual Net Cost of Animal Care Services for FY 2022-23 will be based
on actual services provided and fee revenue collected during the fiscal year. Therefore,
your City's actual Net Cost for FY 2022-23 may be higher or lower than the enclosed
estimate. Kindly review the new NOI for FY 2022-23, obtain the signature of your City's
authorized representative on all three copies, and return to:

This Animal Care Notice of Intent specifies Animal Care Services to be provided to CITY by
COUNTY for the Period: JULY 1, 2022, through JUNE 30, 2023. COUNTY agrees to provide to the City
of SANTA ANA the following Animal Care Services beginning JULY 1, 2022:

Animal Impound Services
The total estimated cost for Animal Care Services specified above is $2,281,976.
