The food was excellent, the company enjoyable, and of course the service and attention provided by you and the other members of the team was the best. My fellow residents at 2222 also enjoyed the festivities and we carried back some dinner plates for some of our more home bound and less fortunate residents. We hope you and the Mayor can work with the City Manager to move forward on fullfilling her commitment to direct Revive Funds to our Senior Citizens. Although Covid-induced inflation has griped the residents of 2222, we appreciate your generousity in sharing such a bountiful and tasteful meal, prepared by giving volunteers. to help ease an otherwise difficult situation. Please extend a special thanks to Rosa at the SWCC. Perhaps next year, City Executive Staff can join her and have the experience she had in truly serving others in this community. Also, a special thank you to your mother for the knitted scarf. It goes with everything I wear. We should discuss another event to bring the Senior residents of Ward 5 and 3 together next year. I am still receiving parking tickets and so is the community | am still receiving parking tickets and so is the community of over 20 cars everyday, today is 12.15.22 which | received another ticket of7O$from the same exact cop at5amwho gives out tickets everyday, which makes everyday life harder and harder for the people in these communities. Streets near me are 1342 N Ross St, Santa Ana, CA 92706 and cross street 3Z8vvvvashin8ton ave santa ana which are under the Willard street sign parking plan. I have received over 4 parking tickets parking in different streets to avoid the same cop that is giving out the tickets because this "vvi||ardstreet p|an" slips into homes and apartment blocks especially in Washington/Ross where the public will have majority better use for ..instead of the enforcement of no parking at 2am-6am when no one is really awake, crime low, and for the purpose of issuing tickets tolower class hardworking individuals. The Santa Ana street meters in this "willard street plan" around this area/houses also contribute to this problem listed be|ovv...ofmajority ofapartments not being e|igiNeforparkingpermits.BothSantaAnametersinthis"vvi||ardstreet p|an"and noparking 2am-6am of this street plan, are occupying unused space more suited to the public. Majority ofapartments are not eligible for parking permits. I live in an apartment and I called City hall to get a permit and they told me I am not eligible because the apartment I live in has more than 4 units. Which is inconvenient because my apartment unit only provides I parking space per unit which isthe reality for most families living here. Most families will have atleast 2cars. Majority of Santa Ana is made up of families. The Majority of the people that live in these areas are people that live in apartments which is fundamental to Santa ana. And the majority of these hardworking people will be denied parking permits because the majority of the apartments here are more than 4units. Sothe majority ofthem will get tickets. The traffic division that created this plan did not plan accordingly or need to update for the accommodation of people and apartments that exist here. The City Hall permit parking division did not plan accordingly or need to update for the accommodation of people and apartments that exist here. The rules of the Santa ana the Charter and Municipal Code did not plan accordingly or need to update for the accommodation ofpeople and apartments that exist here. People parking here are not creating aviolation but are stated asaviolation and needs tobeoverturned. You will have to drive 10 minutes out or walk 30 minutes to avoid this willard street zone everyday due to these signs. About the people that live here and are getting these tickets. I am low income like most people here and can't afford to pay over 4 parking ticketsand who knows how many more when it's being issued everyday bycops dotothe street signs here. Many people living here are just the same. They are hardworking and can't afford to be paying tickets. call to action or solutions. Can this topic also be discussed in the next Santa Ana Council Public hearing meeting for a vote and awareness? Can it be brought to light to the Mayor of the city and please let them see this email or forward it to her or him. removal ofthe street sign "Zam'6amnoparking" and meters inthe "vvUardparking p|an" That way people will not receive 7U$tickets everyday. The City Hall permit parking division to be able to issue I parking permit to every individual apartment tenant on the lease. That way they won't get a ticket. And these people will be paying the accommodated pricing of the renewal of their parking permit instead of the outrageous prices of tickets/meter or other. It has been hard to get into contact with the right people or person that actually has authorization to remove these street signs. And | am grateful for you being able to have the opportunity to get into contact with these people. The community is hoping for this miracle. | am passionate about this so | wrote this so the story is a bit more clearer. Thanks again, looking forward tohearing back from you N Wojaczynski, Brittany From: Victor D Mendez <vicdmendez@gmail.com> Sent: Sunday, December 18, 2022 3:37 PM To: Gerry Serrano (POA) Cc: Valentin, David; Ridge, Kristine; Amezcua, Valerie; Lopez, Jessie; Hernandez, Johnathan; Vazquez, Benjamin; Penaloza, David; Bacerra, Phil; Phan, Thai; eComment Subject: Thank You Gerry Serrano and the Santa Ana Police Officers Association (POA) !!! Mr Serrano On behalf of the 600 Senior Citizen Residents here at 2222 East First, we wish to thank you and the POA for your most kind and generous sponsorship of the Holiday lunch that was held this past Friday. The hot Mexican lunch was great and delicious and it was nice of the Pico de Gallo Staff to provide friendly service. Since many of our residents struggle on their limited Social Security incomes to make rent, utilities, Medicare premiums, prescription out of pockets costs, etc, the opportunity to eat out is rare and to enjoy a meal that you and the POA provided would probably be out of reach. Also, cooking is very challenging for many residents including myself, who have physical disabilities. At this time, I am working to have the City fulfill their commitment to assist Senior Citizens using Revive Funds, with no success to date. Your most kind responsiveness to my request to sponsorship in some small way has helped to ebb away this void still left by bureacuratic inaction. Please extend my best wishes to the rest of your POA team and to your fine members for a joyous holiday season. VICTOR D MENDEZ 2222 East First St Santa Ana, CA 92705 1
