RESOLUTION NO.2023-010
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF THE
REPAIR AND RESURFACING OF THE BASKETBALL
COURT AT PORTOLA PARK
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines
and declares as follows:
A. Portola Park in the City of Santa Ana, located at 1700 E. Santa Clara Avenue,
has a basketball court available for public use.
B. Project Backboard, a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, renovates public
basketball courts and installs large scale works of site specific art on the
surface.
C. Project Backboard wishes to donate the repair and resurfacing of the basketball
court at Portola Park.
D. The total value of the donated equipment and services is valued at
approximately $75,000 with no cost to the City.
E. The acceptance of this donation enhances the public basketball court at
Portola Park.
Section 2. The City hereby accepts the donation of the repair and resurfacing of
the public basketball court at Portola Park, 1700 E. Santa Clara Avenue.
Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this
Resolution is for any reason held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Resolution. The City
Council hereby declares that it would have passed and adopted this Resolution, and each
and all provisions hereof, irrespective of the fact that one or more provisions may be
declared invalid.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the
City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this
Resolution.
