Subject: Agenda Item regarding Appointment of Fernando Delgado (Item 28)
Dear City Council,
I write as a resident of Ward 5. I am wholly in support of the appointment of Fernando Delgado to the Police
Oversight Commission. I find it suspicious that this individual would be requested to speak on his own behalf of
being appointed when no other Police Oversight appointee has been asked to do the same. Where there are no
factors that disqualify a potential candidate for the commission, the will of the appointing Councilmember
should be respected as has taken place thus far.
Ward 5 needs people like Mr. Delgado to represent their interests on the Commission. His knowledge and
background will serve not only Ward 5 residents but all residents of the city in a positive manner.
