DISCUSSION
The Public Works Agency’s Water Resources Division oversees and maintains the daily
operations of the City’s water and sanitary sewer systems. The Division is requesting to
purchase a diesel pump to replace the existing 11-year-old emergency sewer bypass
pump for the San Lorenzo Sewer Lift Station. In the event of an emergency, the bypass
pump will be used to move sewage from the City’s sewer system to Orange County
Sanitation District’s system, which will prevent sewer system overflows while the
functionality is restored to the lift station.
