AGENDA TITLE:
Election of Mayor Pro Tem 2021-2022
RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. The Mayor calls for nominations for Mayor Pro Tem position.
2. The Mayor closes nominations for the position.
3. The Mayor declares the result of the election.
DISCUSSION
At the December 8, 2020 special City Council meeting, the City Council decided to make
the Mayor Pro Tem position an annual appointment. The Mayor Pro Tem shall act as
Mayor during the absence from the city or disability of the Mayor, or during any vacancy
in the Office of Mayor until otherwise filled in accordance with Section 403 of the Santa
Ana Charter.
