AGENDA TITLE:
Election of Mayor Pro Tem for 2023
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that:
1. The Mayor calls for nominations for Mayor Pro Tem Position.
2. The Mayor closes nominations for position.
3. The Mayor declares the result of the election.
DISCUSSION
Pursuant to Santa Ana Charter Section 405 and Municipal Code Section 2-101, the newly
elected City Council shall elect a Mayor Pro Tem who shall act as Mayor during the
absence from the City or disability of the Mayor, or during and vacancy in the Office of
Mayor until otherwise filled in accordance with Section 403 of the Santa Ana Charter.
