AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN
TERRITORY DESIGNATED "TOWNSEND ANNEXATION"
WhErEAS, the City Council of the City of Santa ~na did
heretofore on the lSth day of February, 1952 by Resolution No.
52-21 declare its intention to anne~ certain uninhabited terri-
tory contiguous to said City, which said Resolution was regularly
published in the Santa Ana Register, a newspaper of general cir-
culation printed and published in said City and in the Tustin
News, a newspaper published outside of said City but in the County
of Orange, said publications being made once a week for two suc-
cessive weeks prior to the public hearing on said proposed annex-
ation, which said public hearing was set by said Resolution for
the 17th day of March, 1952; and
WHEREAS, at said hearing there were no objections to said
proposed annexation and no written protest was filed by any person
against the same;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Sectign l: That after due hearing regularly held upon due
notice regularly given ia all respects as required by the statutes
and as hereinabove set out and in the files of this proceeding more
particularly shown, we do find, declare and ordain that there is
and was no protest nor objection, either written or oral, to the
annexation of the territory herein described to the City of Santa
Ana, that due and regular notice of the time and place of hearing
was given as required by law and that said territory is and was
wholly uninhabited and that no person lives

in the County of Orange, State of California and described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeasterly corner of Emmett's Addition
to South Santa Zna, as per map thereof recorded in Book $,
Page 13 of Miscellaneous Naps, Records of Orange County,
said Northeasterly corner being on the center line of Delhi
Road, said Northeasterly corner also being a point on the
boundary line of the City of Santa ana, California; thence
S. 0° 09' E. along the boundary line of the City of Santa
Ana, and along the East line of said Emmett's Addition,
1255.95 feet to the North line of the easement of the Pacific
Electric Railway Company, as dsscribed in deed recorded in
Book 225, Page 317 of Deeds, Records of Orange County; thence
along the North and Northwesterly line of said easement
S. $9° 48' 30" East 237.00 feet to the beginning of a curve
concave to the Northwest having a radius of 357.2~ fe~t with
a radial line to said beginning of curve bearing S. 0~ ~6' 03" E.;
thence Northeasterly along said ~urve 353.11 feet ~hrough an
arc of 56v 37' 5~"; thence N. 22~ 37' E. 130 feet; thence N.
0° 0~' 50" W. 1032.00 feet along the Westerly line and its
Northerly extension of the land described in deed to the
Southern Pacific Railroad Company, a Corporation, as recorded
in Book 210, Page 333 of Deeds, Records of Orange County,
to the North line of Delhi Road as shown on a map of Tract
No. 696, recorded in Book 20, Pages ~5 and ~6 of Miscella-
neous Maps, Records of Orange County; thence West along said
North line of Delhi Road 389.54 feet to the Easterly boundary
line of the City of Santa aha, as annexed by Ordinance No.
1173, said Easterly boundary line being distant 125.00 feet
Easterly from and parallel to the East line of Standard Ave-
nue as shown on said map of said Tract No. 696; thence South-
erly along said Easterly boundary line of the City of Santa
Aha 30.00 feet to its intersection with the Center Line of
Delhi Road, said intersection being an angle point in said
boundary line; thence West along the boundary line of the
City of Santa Aha, said boundary line being on the center line
of Delhi Road, 195.50 feet to the point of beginning,
be and the same is hereby annexed to and shall become a part of the
City of Santa ~na and the annexation of said territory is by this

Ordinance, effected, approved and declared/to take effect from
and after the effective date of this Ordinance and shall be and
continue a part of said City.
Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in three issues
of the Santa Aha RegiSSer, a newspaper printed, published, and circu-
lated in the City of Santa ~na, and hereby designated for that pur-
pose. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the
day on which it is passed and adopted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha
at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of April
