NS-18 APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED "SCHULMAN ANNEXATION" ~EREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa ~na did, on the 8th day of September, 1953 by Resolution Number 53-131, declare its intention to annex certain uninhabited territory contiguous to said City, which said Resolution was regularly published in the Santa Ann Independent, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in said City, and in the Orange Daily News, a newspaper of general circulation published outside of said City but in the County of Orange, California, said publications being made once a week for two consecutive weeks prior to the public hearing on said proposed annex- ation which said public hearing was set by said Resolution for the 13th day of October, 1953; and V~iEREAS, at said hearing there were no objections to said pro- posed annexation and no written protest was filed by any person against the same; NOW, TH~REFORE, Th~ CITY COUNCIL OF TkT~ CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That after due hearing regularly held upon due no- tice regularly given in all respects as required by the statutes and as hereinabove set out and in the files of this proceeding more par- ticularly shown, we do find, declare and ordain that there is and was no protest nor objection, either written or oral, to the annexation of the territory herein described to the City of Santa ~na, that due and regular notice of the time and place of nearing was given as re- quired by law end that said territory is and was wholly uninhabited and that no person lives thereon; t~at said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa ~na, California. SECTION 2. That all of the uninhabited territory situated in the County of Orange, State of California is described as follows: That portion of Lots 15 and 16 of Potts, Borden and Sidwell Tract, as recorded in Miscellaneous Records, Book 4, Page 624, Records of Los Angeles County, California not included within the City of Santa Ann, California, said portion being eescribed more particularly as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the South line of said Lot 15 within the City Limits of Santa Aha, running thence Westerly along the South lines of said Lots 15 and 16 to the Southwest corner of said Lot 16, thence Northerly along the West line of said Lot 16 to the Northwest corner thereof, thence Easterly along the North lines of said Lots 16 and 15 to the City Limits of Santa Zna, thence Southeasterly and Southerly along the City Limits of Santa Aha to the point of beginning, be and the same is hereby annexed to and shall 0ecome a part of the City of Santa Aha and the annexation of said territory is by this Ordinance effected, approved, and declared to take effect from and after the effective date of this Ordinance and shall be and continue a part of said City. SECTION 3. The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the pas- sage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published with- in 15 days after its adoption, in one issue of the Santa Ana Independ- ent, the official newspaper of the City. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of its final adoption.
