BY AMENDING ARTICLE IX THEREOF CREATING CHANGES IN
DISTRICT BOUNDARIES AND BY AMENDING Sw$-'~T NUMBEP. S 27
and 38 OF THE DISTRICTING MAP TO SHOW THE. RECLASSIFI-
CATION
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the Oity of Santa
Ana has given notice of public hearings aa required by law and has
duly held two public hearings in connection with the application
for change of District Classification and by Resolution Number
610 recommended the change hereinbelow set out to the City Council
for adoption; and
WHEREAS, the City Council gave due and regular notice of
public hearing and such public hearing has been regularly held and
the Council does now find that public necessity, convenience, and
general welfare require the following amendment and change in the
present classification of the real property hereinafter described
and that the uses under the proposed new classification will not be
detrimental to the surrounding property;
NOW, THEHEFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA AMA
DOES ORDAIN A~ FOLLOWS~
SECTION 1. That the real property lying in the City of
Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as:
That portion of the Julian Chaves Allotment in the
Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana and that portion of Tract No.
488, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 17, page 4 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California,
described as followsl
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 5 of said
Tract No. 488, thence Southerly 1138.09 feet along the
Easterly line of said Lot 5 to a point in said East line
of said Lot 5; thence Westerly along a line parallel with
the Northerly boundary of said Tract No. 488 to a point in
the West line of Lot 2 of said Tract No. 488; thence
Northerly along the West line of said Lot 2, 848.20 feet,
more or ieee, to the Southeast corner of land described
in deed to O. A. Daugherty and wife, recorded July let,
1940 in Book 1047, page 339 of Official records; ~hence
Westerly 30.10 feet to the Bouthwest corner of said land
of O. A. Daugherty; thence Northerly 285.00 feetsParallel~8
with the West line of Lot 1 of said Tract No. to the
North line of said Lot 1; thence Northeasterly to a point
in the North line of First Street as shown on a Map of
said Tract No. 488, distant Easterly 410.56 feet from the
intersection of said North line with the center line of
Sullivan Street as shown on a Map of said Tract No. 488;
thence Northerly parallel with the center line of said
Sullivan Street a distance of 5?2.32 feet; thence Easterly
in a direct line along the westerly prolongation of
the center line of Third Street aa said Third Street is
laid out and shown on a map of the Fisher Tract, Recorded
in Book 4, page 90 of Miscellaneous Maps, Recomis of
Orange County, California., to the West line of Townsend
Street in the City of Santa Aha; thence Southerly along
the West line of said Townsend Street and its Southerly
prolongation to the North line of Lot 5 of said Tract
No. 488; thence Easterly along the North line of said
Lot 5 to the point of beginning.
be reclassified from R-1 and R-2 Districts as follows:
That portion of said property beginning at a point
on the East line of Lot 5 of said Tract No. 488 which
point lies 150 feet Northerly from the center line of
Myrtle Street; thence Westerly andparallel to the ex-
tended center line of Myrtle Street and Northerly there-
from 150 feet measured at right angles, to a point in
the Westerly line of Lot 2 of said Tract No. 488; thence
Northerly along the Westerly line of said Lot 2, 300
feet; thence Easterly and parallel to the extended center
line of Myrtle Street to a point in the Easterly line of
Lot 5 of said Tract No. 488; thence Southerly along the
Easterly line of Lot % of sd d Tract No. $88 to the point
of beginning,
be reclassified to R-3 (Multiple Family Residence District) and
that balance of said property be reclassified to M-l(Manufacturing
District) and that Sheet Numbers 27 and 38 of the Districting Map
of Article IX of the Santa Ana Municipal Code be amended to show
such reclassification.
SECTION 2. The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the s'~me to be published
within 15 days after its adoption, in one issue of .the Santa Ana
Independent, the official newspaper of ~he City. This Ordinance
shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of its final
adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of April,
1954.
