BY ADDING THERET0-~TION 3237 PRESCRIBING MAXIMUM SPEED
ON A PART OF LINCOLN AVENUE.
WHEREAS, an engineering and traffic survey of ~®hicular traffic
moving on Lincoln Avenue north of Seventeenth Street has been made
and indicates that the prima facle speed limit of 55 miles per hour,
the speed limit now applicable under the Vehicle Code, is more than
is reasonable or safe and constitutes a present and continuing hazard
to persons and p~operty upon said street:
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code be and the same is
hereby amended by adding a new Section numbered Section 3237 at the
end of Chapter 2 of Article III of said Code to read as follows:
"SECTION 3237. Speed Limit On Lincoln Avenue.
No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed g~eater than
35 miles per hour on Lincoln Avenue between a point 150
feet south of the centerline of Catalina Avenue and a
point 142 feet north of the center line of Grovemont,
which last mentioned point is on the City Limits line."
SECTION 2: The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published, within 15
days after its adoption, in one issue of the Sant~ Aha Independent.
This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its adoption.
