CERTAIN T~RITOR-~IGNATED "STATE AND ALLSTATE ANNEW'
WHEBEAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on Febz.,~ary 14,
1955, declare its intention to annex certain m~ntnbablted territory by Resolution
No. 55-39, which said Resolution was regularly published in the Santa Aha Inde-
pendent and Orange Daily News as required by law, and which said Resolution gave
due notice of public hearing to be held on April 4, 1955; and
WHEi~EAS, at said hearing there were no objections or protests to said
proposed annexation;
NOW~ ~HE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That ~fter due he~ring regularly held in a] 1 respects as
required by law and as more particularly shown in the files of this proceeding,
it finds that there was no protest to the -nnex~tion of the territory herein
described, that due notice of the time and place of hearing was given; that said
territory was wholly ,,-Inhabited at the time the petition for annexation was
filed; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Aha, California;
that written consent, of ..1] the owners was filed with the Clerk of the Council
prior to the adoption of this Ordinance~ agreeing that .11 property within said
territory sh.] 1 be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City con-
tracted prior to or existing at the time of annexation and that said property
Sba11 be so taxed.
SECTION 2. That all of the territory situated in the County of 0range~
State of Califoruia~ described as:
Begin~fng at the intersection of the mon,-.-nted center lines of
Mabury Street smd Fourth Street, said point being in the East boundary
line of the City of Santa Aha, California, ~,nn~:~g thence North 89°
13' 40" East along said center line of Fourth Street; 975.09 feet to
an intersection with the Northerly extension of the East line of Lot 16~
of the Maybury Tract, as shown on a map recorded in Book 36, at pnge 65,
of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the County Recorder of Los
Angeles County~ California; thence South 0° 33' 05" East along said ex-
tension, the East line of said Lot 16 and the Southerly extension of
said East line, 955.52 feet to a_point in the South line of First Street
66.00 feet wide; thence South 89~ 07' 30" West along said South line;
610.26 feet to an angle point in the C~ty Boundary of the City of
Santa Ana~ California; thence South 89 07' 30" West along said City
boundary and said South line 363.18 feet to an intersection with the
Southerly extension of said monumented center line of Mabury Street;
thence North 0 39' 00" West, along said extension and center line and
along said City Boundary line, 957.27 feet to the point of beginning,
be and the same is hereby annexed to and s~,~l 1 become a part of the City of
Santa Aha, the Santa Ana Elementary School District, S~uta Aha High School
District, and Santa Aha Junior College District, and said annexation is by
this Ordinance effect, approved and declared to take effect from and after
the effective date of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. The Clerk of the Council s~l certify to the passage of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published, within 15 days after
its adoption, in one issue of the Santa Aha Independent, the official newspaper
of the City. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date
of its final adoption.
