PUBLIC STREETS IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA BY AMENDING SECTION
3212 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE AND BY ADDING NEW SECTION
THERETO
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 3212 of the Santa Aha Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 3212. Parallel Parking Required.
No person shall stand or park any vehicle on any public
street in the City other than with the right-hand wheels of such
vehicle parallel with and within 18 inches of the right-hand
curb except where said street has been designated as a one-way
street and signs, giving notice of the fact that vehicles thereon
are required to move in one specified direction only, have been
posted at all entrances to said street, when a person may stand
or park a vehicle with the left-handwheels parallel with and
within 18 inches of the left~xand curb of said street. This
Section shall be subject to the exceptions contained in Section
588 of the Vehicle Code of California."
SECTION 2. That a new Section is hereby added to the Santa Aha
Municipal Code Immediately following Section 3212 in words and figures
as follows:
"SECTION 3212.1. No Parking over Stall Lines.
No person shall stand or park any vehicle on any public street
in the City where the surface of said street has been marked with
w~ite lines designating parking spaces or stalls so that said
vehicle is across or upon any such line, or in such a position
that said vehicle is not entirely within the area designated by
such lines as a parking space or stall."
SECTION 3- All Ordinances and Resolutions in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed and rescinded in so far as such conflict exists.
SECTION 4. The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the pas-
sage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published within
15 days after its adoption in one issue of the Santa Ana Independent.
This Ordinance shall take effect on the 15th day of May, 1956.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of March , 1956.
