THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Santa Arm Electrtml~odels hereby amended
by amending Section 16, Sub-section H thereof, and Section 25, Sub-
section J thereof to read as follows:
SECTION 16.
"H. Galvanized or sheradized rigid metal conduit shall
be required in concrete or masonry floors and walls, under-
ground and outside of buildings, or where exposed to the
weather. Other types of conduit or external insulating mater-
ial on cable may be used when the same has been determined to be
equal to or better than .the rigid metal conduit herein required
by the decision of the Deputy Building Inspector and approved
by the Director of the Department of Building and Safety."
SECTION 25.
"J. Each and every livable room shall have at least one
general lighting outlet rated not less than required elsewhere
in this Code. In closets, other than wardrobes with sliding
or swinging doors, the lighting outlet shall be placed on the
wall over the door, or may be located on the ceiling if operated
by a wall switch, door switch or ceiling pull switch. Drop
cord shall not be installed in closets. Living rooms and bed-
rooms may be excepted provided one (1) or more outlmts required
as convenience outlets are provided and controlled by an access-
ible wall switch. Provided, however, closets having a width of
not more than twenty-seven inches (27") nor a length of more than
(36") may be exempt from having a lighting
thirty-six inches
outlet."
SECTION 2. The
Clerk of the Council shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
within l~ days after its adoption, in one issue of the Santa Ana
Independent. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and
after the date of its .adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of April --, 19~0.
