CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED "CRODDYLAND ANNEX NO. l"
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on
March 5, 1956 declare its intention to annex certain uninhabited
territory by Resolution No. 56-70, which said Resolution was regular-
ly published as required by law, and which said Resolution gave due
notice of public hearing to be held on May 7, 1956; and
WHEREAS, at said hearing there were no objections or protests
to said proposed annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That after due hearing, it finds that there was no
protest to the annexation of the territory herein described, that due
notice of the time and place of hearing was given; that said territory
was wholly uninhabited at the time the petition for annexation was
filed; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana,
California; that written consent of all the ownera was filed with the
Clerk of the Council prior to the adoption of this Ordinance, agree-
lng that all property within said territory shall be taxed to pay any
indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to or existing
at the time of annexation and that said property shall be so taxed.
SECTION 2. That all of the territory situated in the County of
Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 10, of Block
of Tract No. 507, as shown on a map recorded in Book 20, at
Pages ll and 12 of Miscellaneous Naps, records of Orange County,
California, said corner being the Southwest corner of Harvard
Street and Greenville Stre'et, thence South 15° 05' 40" West along
the Southeasterly line of said Lot 10, and along the Santa Aha
City Boundary line, 355~53 feet to the Southeast corner of said
Lot 10; thence South 88u 42' 20" West along the South line of said
Tract No. 507, 2040.03 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 7, of
B lock "K", of said Tract No. 507; thence South 89° 40'.00" West,
parallel with the North line of Lot 6, of Tract No. 1024, as shown
on a map recorded in Book 33, at page 33 of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of said Orange County, 1768.30 feet to a point in the West
line of said Lot ~; thence South 1° 19' 45~ EaSt along the West
line of said Lot b and the East line of Lo~ 7 of said Tract No.
1024, 2262.79 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 7; thence
South 88° 43' 45" ~est along the South line of said Lot 7, 1280.00
feet to a point in the East line of Harbor Boulevard as described
in the deed recorded February 21, 1934, in Book 655, at page
~ Official Records, records of said Orange County; thence North
19' 45" West, along said East line, 49 .51 fee~ to the begin-
ning of a tangent curve concave Westerly and having a radius of
1040.00 fee~; thence Northerly along said curve through a central
angle of 16v 56' 57" an arc distance of 307.65 feet to a llne
tangent; thence North 18° 16' 42" West along sai'd tangent line,
160.00 feet; thence North 71° 43' 18" East 10.00 feet; thence
North 18° 16' 42" West 239.23~ feet to a point in the Southeasterly
right of way line of the Santa Ana River Channel through the New-
bert Protection District; said point being on a curve concave
Northwesterly and having a radius of 2~,093.33 feet; (A radial
llne through said point bears North 63 05' ~3" West), thence
Northeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 4° o9'
10" an arc distance of 1673.80 feet to an intersection with the
Westerly extension of theoNorth line of Lot 6, of said Tract
No. 1024; thence North 89 40' 00" East along said extension and
North line, and the South line of Lot 3 Qf said Tract No, 1024,
2703.86 feet to a point distant South 89° 40' 00" West ~5.25 feet
from the Southeast corner of said Lot 3; thence South 0 30' 00"
East 30.00 feet to a point in the South line of Harvard Street or
the Westerly extension thereof as shown on said map of Tract No.
507; thence North 89° 40' 00" East, along said line, 1900.12 feet
to the point of beginning.
All bearings and distances are as shown on licensed Surveyor's
Nap filed in Book 30, Page 43, Record of Survey in the Office of
the County Recorder of Orange County, California,
be and the same is hereby annexed to and shall become a part of the
City of Santa Aha, the Santa Ana Elementary School District, Santa
Aha High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District, and
said annexation is by this Ordinance effected, approved and declared.
SECTION 3. The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the pas-
sage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published within
15 days after its adoption, in one issue of the Santa Ana Independent.
This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of
its final adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of M~y , 1956.
