ARTICLE II OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE, AND ADOPT-
ING BY REFERENCE CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS
TO CAERY OUT THE INTENT AND PURPOSE OF THE CIVIL SER-
VICE PROVISIONS OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, heretofore three copies in bound volume form entitled
"Civil Service Rules and Regulations" have been filed with the Clerk
of the Council for permanent record and public inspection, and notice
that the same have been made so available for public inspection, and
of the date, hour and place of the meeting where the City Council
would consider said Civil Se~vlce Rules and Regulations for final pass-
age and adoption by reference, has been d~ly published thereon, and a
public hea~ing thereon duly held;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Rules and Regulations cf the Civil Service
Commission, adopted under the p~ovisions of Ordinance No. 1056, and
Amendments thereto, and Ordinances No. 1056, 1197, and 1219~ which
were continued in effect as Chapter 2 of Article II of the Sau ta Ana
Nunicipal Code, Ordinances No. NS-97 and NS-lO9, and Chapter 2 of
Article II of the Santa Aha Nunicipal Code, are hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. That the Santa Aha Nunicipal Code is hereby amended
by adding thereto a new Part l, Chapter 2 of Article II, in words and
figures as follows:
"CHAPTE~ 2
Part i - Personnel Natters
"Section 2200. Civil Service Rules s~d Regulations, Adoption.
That certain document in book form entitled ~Ctvil Service Rules
and Regul~ations'; three copies of ~hich are now on file in the
office of the Clerk of the Council, and which said document con-
tains detailed and extensive regulations which have been arranged
as a comprehensive code pertaining to the rights, privileges,
duties and obligations of employees of the City of Santa Aha,
is hereby adopted and enacted by reference, as p~ovided for in
Section 419 of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana, to have the
same force and effect as any other Ordinance of theCity, and
shall carr~ the pen~ties therein provided for, and said Rules
and Regulations shall govern and control the relationship ex-
isting between City employees and the City of Santa Ana upon
any matter covered or regulated by said Rules and Regulations.
Said Rules and Regulations have been divided into sections, and
have been assigned section numbers assigned to Part i of Chapter
2 of the Santa Aha Municipal Code, and are hereby adopted by
~eference as s~d Part l, and are hereby directed to be included
as a portion of the Santa Aha Municipal Code."
SECTION 3. This Ordin~ce shall take effect 30 days from and
after the date of its adoption.

at its regular meeting held on the

Ordinance was regularly introduced at the regular meeting of said

considered by said Council at its regular meeting held on the 3rd
day of September , 1957, and was at said meeting regularly passed
and adopted by said Council by the following vote, to-wit:
