SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS
~HEREAS, heretofore by Ordinance No. NS-277 a new set of Rules
and Regulations were adopted to regulate the rights, privileges,
duties s~d obligations of the employees of the City of Santa Aha,
and thereafter on Ma~ 28th, 1958, after due hea~ing, on notice as
required by law, the Personnel Board adopted a Resolution recommend-
ing to the City Council an amendment to said Rules and Regulations;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF TME CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 2 of Article II of the Sa~ ta Ana Mun-
icipal Code, the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of the City, is
hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section immediately following
Section 2256, in words and figures as follows:
"Section 2256.1. Absence, Authorized.
Absence without pay not to exceed five (5) consecutive
working days may be a~thorized by an employee's department
head. Absence without pay not to exceed fifteen (15)
calendar days may be authorized by the department head
with the approval of the City Manager. Such absences may
be authorized only if in the Judgment of the department
head they serve the best interest of the City."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the
date of its adoption.
