N$-38~ DECLARING THE ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED "EDINGER A~D POPLAR SOUTH ANNEX" ~HEREAE~ bhe Otby Oouncil o£ the City of Eanta Ana did, on June 1, 1959, declare its intention to annex certain uninhabited territory by Resolution No. 59-145, which said Resolution was regular- ly published as required by law, and gave due notice of a public hear- lng to be held July 20, 1959, which said hearing was regularly held; NOW, ~HEREFORE, THE STY COUNCIL OF HE C~TY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That after d~e hearing it finds that protest to the annexation of ~l~e territory herein described was not made by the own- ers of one-half of the value of said territory, as declared by Resolu- tion No. 59-184; that due notice of the time and place of hearing was given; that said territory was uninhabited at the time Resolution No. 59-145 was adopted initiating this procedure; that said territory is contiguous to the City of S~ta A~ and that said territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City existing at the time of this ~unexation. SECTION 2. That all of the territory situated in t he County of Orange, State of California, described as: Beginning at a point on the center line of Edinger Street 331.86 feet westenly from the intersection of the center lines of Edinger Street and Bristol Street, said point of beginning being the Northwest corner of the "Babylon Annexa- tion", annexed to'the City of Santa Ana, California, by Ordinmace Number NS-62 on September 7, 1954; and z~nning thence South 89° 29' 25" Nest along said center line of Edinger Street and along the city boundary of the City of Santa Ana, 1,2o2.14 feet to the northerly extension of the west line of Lot 3 as shov~ on a Record of Survey map filed in Book 3, page 29, Reco~d of Surveys in the Office of the County Recorder of Or, ge County, California; thence depart- ing from said city boundary South 00°11,25" West along said west line of Lot 3 a~d its extensio~ 659.64 feet to the southerly line of the tract of land described in deed to H. F. Rogers and wife date? September 6, 1927, and recorded in Book ~7, page 28 of Offmcisl Records of said 0r~ ge County, and to the south line of said Lot 3; thence North 89°35'2%'' East along said South line 15.00 feet more or less to the East line of that certain property described as Parcel i in deed to J~es A. Lukens and Florence B. Lukens dated June 19, 1958, and recorded in Book 4351, page 238, Official Records of said Orange County; thence southerly ~ong said east line 658.14 feet more or less to said city boundary mhd to the north line of Tract No. 2208, as shown on a m~ thereof re- corded in Book 64, pages 23 and 24, Miscellaneous N~os, records of said Orange County; thence easterly along said city boundary and along said north line to an angle point in said city boundary, said point being 974.16 feet westerly from said center line of Bristol Street, measured along said north line and along the north line of Tract No. 2209,,as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 64, pages 25 ~ d 2b, Miscellaneous ~,~aps, Records of sa~d Orange County; thence North 00°11'55" East along said cit3 boundary 229.25 feet to ~ angle point in said city boundary; thence North 89° 2?, 40" East 974.16 feet along said city boundary to an angle point in said city boundary and to the center,line of said Bristol Street; thence North 00° ll' ~,t East along said city boundary and along said center line of Bristol Street to a point 649.44 feet southerly (measured along said center line) from the intersection of the center lines of Bristol Street and Edinger Street; thence South 89° 29' 25" West along said city boundary 331.86 feet to an angle point in said city bound$~y;.thence North 00° 11,~ ~5" East along said city boundary b49.44 feet to the center line of Edinger Street and to the point of beginning~ be and the same is hereby annexed to and shall become a part of the City of Santa Ana, the Santa Ana School District, the Santa Ana High School District, and the Santa Ana Junior College District, and said annexation is ~ this Ordinance effected, approved md declared. SECTION 3- This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of its final adoption.
