OF THE SANCTA ANA NUNIC!PAL CODE REGULATING NA~uFACTURIN~
DISTRICTS
WHEREAS, after public hearings, the Planning Commission has
recommended the following amendments to Chapter 2 of Article IX
of the Santa Ana ?~nicipal Code, the zoning regulations of the City
of Santa Ana, and the City Council has regularly held a public hear-

NOW, T~LEP~EFORE, ~HE CITY/0F THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Sections 9211 and 9212 of Chapter 2 of
Article IX of the Santa Ana Municipal Code are hereby amended to
read as follows:
SECTION 9211. M-1 (Manufacturing District)
Uses Permitted
(a)
Any use except those specifically prohibited herein,
the primary function of which use is the processing,
treatment, manufacturing, assembling, compounding
or storage of muy material or equipment.
(b) ~l~ne follmwi~g actions are expressly prohibited:
1. Abattoir (except poultry dressing for retail sales
from premises)
2. Auto wrecking
liAsphalt, mixing, refining and storage plants
Absorption plants
Bag manufacturing and cleaning
6. Blast furnace
7. Boiler works
8. Bunkers, rock and/or sand
9. Coke ovens
10. Cooperage works
ll. Cordage mills
12. Creosote storage or m~ufacturing

D~stillation of coal, wood or bone
Distillation of liquor or spirits
Fat rendering

New residential subdivisions and any other residential
use except that which is clearly and traditionally
secondary and incidental to a principal~e permitted
by this Section.
Retail commercial enterprises and professional offices
unless secondary and incidental to a principal use
permitted by this Section.
(c)
Nothing herein is intended to prohibit the compounding
or processing of raw materials in the course of fabri-
cation or manufacture of foam rubber or those products
or articles known as camelback, tire repair material,
sporting and athle tic equipment and like articles made
wholly or in part of rubber~ latex or rubber-like
materials.
SECTION 9212. N-2 (Nanufacturing District)
Uses Permitted
(a) All uses permitted in N-1 District, all uses expressly
prohibited by subparagraph (b) of Section 9211, and all
uses not otherwise prohibited by law except the following:

New residential subdivisions or any other residen-
tial use except that which is clearly and trad-
itionally secondary and incidental to a principal
use permitted by,t~is Section.
Retail co~merci~! enterprises and professional
offices unless secondary and incidental to a prin-
cipal use permitted by this Section.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and
after the date of its adoption.
