CANVASS OF RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ANNEXATION ELECTION
IN THE TERRITORY KNOWN A~D DESIGNATED AS "BERRYDALE
AND TRASK N.E. ANNEX"~ AND APPROVING AND DECLARING
THE ANNEXATION OF SAID TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, heretofore the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
by Resolution expressed its consent to the commencement of proceed-
ings under the Annexation Act of 1913 in response to a petition re-
questing such consent and the proponents of said annexation pub-
lished notice of intention to circulate a petition for said annex-
ation and filed an affidavit containing a copy of said published
notice together with an accompanying statement of reasons therefor,
WHEREAS, upon receiving and filing of said affidavit the City
Council adopted Resolution No. 59-314 acknowledging receipt of said
affidavit and approving the circulation of said petition, and said
petition was duly circulated, filed with, and examined by the Clerk
of the Council of said City and the County officer in charge of
registration of Voters and the certificates of said two officers
were filed with the City Council showing -that said petition had been
signed by more than one-fourth of all qualified electors in said
territory, and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 1960, said City Council adopted
Resolution No. 60-25 declaring intention to call a special election
on the question of annexation of said territory, designating the
name of "Berrydale and Trask N.E. Annex" as an appropriate name of
said territory and fixing the date of March 7, 1960 at 7:30 P.M. in
the Santa Ana City Council chambers as the date, hour, and place for
property owners to show cause and file protests against said
election, and
WHEREAS, at time and place of said hearing it was found that
no written protests had been made and no persons were there present
desiring to speak against said annexation and the City Council then
gave first reading to an Ordinance and on March 21, 1960 adopted the
same as Ordinance No. NS-443 calling a special election to be held
in said territory on May 10, 1960; and

WHEREAS, said election was regularly held on the 10th day of
1960, and the ballots of said election presented the following
and on the 16th day of May, 1960, at the next regular meeting of said
City Council occurring more than three days after said election, said
city council did meet and canvass the returns of said election.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That upon the completion of the canvass of said returns
the following results were determined and entered in the minutes of
said meeting~ showing the results of said election in the one voting
precinct, as follows:

SECTION 2. That it is hereby declared that a majority of the votes
cast at said Special Municipal Election on the question of annexation
were cast for the annexation, and that the territory designated
"Berrydale and Trask N.E. Annex", which was and is contiguous to the
City of Santa Ana, in the State of California, and was and is
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of a line which is parallel with
and 20.00 feet northerly, measured at right angles, from the
center line of Trask Avenue, and the East line of the West
half of the Northwest quarter of Section 2, Township 5 South,
Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, said point
of beginning being a point on the City boundary of the City
of Santa Aha, California, thence Northerly along said East
line of the West half of the Northwest quarter of Section 2
to the Southeasterly corner of Lot 25 in Tract No. 2519 as
shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 79, pages 20 and 21
of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California;

thence Southwesterly along the Southeasterly line of said
Lot 25 to the Southwesterly corner thereof; thence Southwest-
erly in a straight line to the most Easterly corner of Lot 3
in said Tract No. 2519; thence Southwesterly, along the
Southerly line of said Lot 3 to an angle point therein; thence
Northwesterly along the Southwesterly line of said Lot 3,
38.09 feet to the Westerly line of said Lot 3; thence Westerly
along the North line of Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 in said
Tract No. 2519 to the Northwest corner of said Lot 11; thence
Southerly along the West line of said Tract No. 2519 to the
South line of the North half (N 1/2) of the Northwest quarter
(NW 1/4) of the Northwest quarter (NW 1/4) of said Section 2;
thence Westerly along said South line and its Westerly prolon-
gation to a line which is 30.00 feet Westerly, measured at right
angles, from the West line of said Section 2; thence Southerly
along said parallel line Which is 30 feet Westerly from the
West line of Section 2 to said line which is parallel with and
20 feet Northerly from the center line of Trask Avenue and to
said City boundary of the City of Santa Ana; thence Easterly
along said City boundary to the point of beginning,
is hereby declared to be and is annexed to and, from the effective
date of this Ordinance, shall be and become a part of the City of
Santa Aha, California.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and
after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa

Ordinance was regularly introduced at its regular meeting held on
