HomeMy WebLinkAboutNS-549ORDINANCE NO. ~-5h9 DECLARING THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "TALBERT AND GREENVILLE SOUTH ANNEX" WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha did, on September 18, 1961, declare its intention to annex certain uninhabited territory by Resolution No. 61-225, which said Resolution was regu- larly published as required by law, and gave due notice of a public hearing to be held November 6, 1961, which said hearing was regularly held on said notice and on mailed notices as required by law. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That after due hearing it finds and declares there was no protest to the annexation of the territory herein described; that due notice of the time and place of hearing was given; that said territory was uninhabited at the time said Resolution NO. 61--225 was adopted initiating this proceeding and was and is contiguous to the city of Santa Ana; and that said territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City existing at the time of this annexation. SECTION 2. That all of the territory situated in the County of Orange, State of California, described as: Beginning at a point on the existing boundary of the City of Santa Aha, California as established by Ordinance NS-450, adopted by the City Council of said City of Santa Aha on the 16th day of May 1960, said point being 373.50 feet West and 25 feet South of the Southeast corner of Lot 4 of the Williams Tract as shown on a map recorded in Book 30, Page 14, Deeds, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; and running thence South along the West line of that certain parcel of land conveyed to William T. Sturgis et ux. by deed recorded August 7, 1959, in Book 483, Page 38, Official Records of Orange County and along said City boundary 639.07 feet to the Southwest corner of said land conveyed to William T. Sturgis and to an angle point in said City boundary of santa Ana as established by said Ordinance NS-450; thence East along the South line of said land conveyed to William T. Sturgis and along said City boundary 343.50 feet to a line parallel with and 30 feet West, measured at right angles, from the center line of Greenville Street and to an angle point in said City boundary as established by said Ordinance NS-450; -1- thence South along said parallel line and along said City boundary 624.13 feet; thence East departing from said City boundary 338 feet; thence North 1258.20 feet to a line parallel with and 30 feet South, measured.at right angles, from the center line of Talbert Avenue, thence West along said parallel line 308 feet to the center line of said Greenville Street; thence North along said center line of Greenville Street 5 feet; thence West along a line which is parallel with and 25 feet South, measured at right angles, from the South line of said Lot 4 of the Williams Tract 373.50 feet to the point of beginning, be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Aha and to Ward No. 4 in said City, and said annexation is by this Ordinance effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this territory, the designation that applies is "Santa Aha City - 1957 & 1958 Annexes". SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of its adoption.
