OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "VERANO AND ROBERTS
WEST ANNEX"
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha did, on
September 18, 1961, declare its intention to annex certain uninhabited
territory by Resolution No. 61-226, which said Resolution was regu-
larly published as required by law, and gave due notice of a public
hearing to be held November 6, 1961, which said hearing was regularly
held on'said notice and on mailed notices as required by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That after due hearing it finds and declares there
was no protest to the annexation of the territory herein described;
that due notice of the time and place of hearing was given; that said
territory was uninhabited at the time said Resolution No. 61-226 was
adopted initiating this proceeding andwas and is contiguous to the
city of Santa Ana; and that said territory shall not be taxed to pay
any indebtedness of the City existing at the time of this annexation.
SECTION 2. That all of the territory situated in the County
of Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary
of the City of Santa Aha as established by Ordinance
NS-367 adopted March 23, 1959 by the City Council of
said City of Santa Aha, said angle point also being an
angle point in the existing boundary of the City of
Garden Grove as established by Ordinance No. 217 adopted
December 30, 1958, by the City Council of said City of
Garden Grove and certifie~by the Secretary of the State
of California January 29, 1959, said angle point being
in the center line of Verano Street distant thereon
N 0°41'40" W 1318.04 feet from the center line of
Smeltzer Avenue, said angle point being the Southeast
corner of the North half of the Southeast quarter of
Section 17, Township 5 South, Range 10 West, as shown on a
map recorded in Book 51, Page 12 of Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of the County of Orange, State of california;
thence S 88°09'20" W, along said existing boundary of the
City of Santa Aha ~nd along the South line of the North
half of said Southeast quarter, 1321.22 feet to the West
line of the East half of said Southeast quarter, and to
an angle point in said City boundary of Santa Aha as
established by said Ordinance NS-367; thence leaving said
ex~sting boundary as established by said Ordinance NS-367,

N 0°40'34" W along said West line, 329.72 feet to the
North line of the South half of the South half of the
North half of said Southeast quarter and to an angle
point in the existing boundary of said City of Santa Aha
as established by Ordinance NS-367; thence N 88"09'52" E,
along said North line and said existing boundary, 1321.11
feet to the center line of said Verano Street, and to an
angle point in said existing boundary of said City of
Santa Aha as established by Ordinance NS-364; thence
S 0°41'40" E, along said center line and said existing
boundary, 329.51 feet to the point of beginning,
be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Ana and to
Ward No. 5 in said City, and said annexation is by this Ordinance
effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this
territory, the designation that applies is "Santa Aha City - 1957
& 1958 Annexes"
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and
after the date of its adoption.

at its regular meeting held on the

Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 6th day of November , 1961, and was again
considered by said Council at its regular meeting held on the 20th
day of November , 1961, and at said meeting was regularly passed
and adopted by said Council by the following vote, to-wit:
