AND 6336 AND REPEALING SECTION6338 OF THE
SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE REGULATING POOL HALLS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Sections 6333, 6335 and 6336 of Part 3,
Chapter 3, Article VI of the Santa Aha Municipal Code are hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 6333. Entrance Open. Minors.
The entrance to every room as defined in Section 6330
shall be open and unobstructed to all peace officers and
members of the public, except that no minor under the
age of 18 years shall be permitted to enter, visit,
loiter or engage in any of said games except as provided
for in Section 6335.
Section 6335. Where Minor May Enter.
When any room or place is maintained where games of
billiards, pool or bagatelle are conducted for profit,
which said room or place is a part and portion of a
business affording amusement or recreation games for
which a fee is charged, and which said room or place
occupies not more than 10% of the total floor space area
devoted to such games, and which business primarily
provides for family recreation and amusement regularly
affording play to husbands and wives, minors under the
age of 18 years, if accompanied by a parent or guardian,
may be permitted to enter the room where billiards, pool
or bagatelle are offered to the public and may be
permitted to play at such games.
Section 6336. Buildinq Restriction Modified.
Any room or place which meets the requirements of
Section 6335 next above need not co~ply with the require-
ment in Section 6330 which requires the area where said
games are played to be entirely inaccessible from other
rooms, but said games shall be at all times open to public
view and any partitions between said area and other game
areas shall be ~ot~less~than 50% transparent glass between
a point 3 feet above the floor and 6 feet above the floor.
SECTION 2: That Section 6338 of Part 3, Chapter 3, Article VI
of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of February , 1964.
