SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO CHANGE DISTRICT
CLASSIFICATIONS ON ~ENDMENT APPLICATION 486
AND ~NDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT I~P 7-5-9

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of and duly
held a public hearing on Amendment Application No. 486, filed by
FREEDOM NEWSPAPERS, INC., a California corporation, for a change in
District classifications from the R-3 and R-1 Districts to the C-5
and R-lB Districts, and said Commission has recommended approval
of said reclassification; and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing on
notice and does now find that the public necessity, convenience and
general welfare require the following amendment and that the use
under the new classifications will not be detrimental to the
surrounding area.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Parcel 1: Beginning at that point where the center line
of Sixth Street intersects the center line of Grand
Avenue; thence northerly along the center line of Grand
Avenue for a distance of 425.5 feet, more or less;
thence easterly along a line approximately parallel to
the center line of Sixth Street for a distance of
661.6 feet, more or less; thence southerly along a line
approximately parallel to the center line of Grand
Avenue for a distance of 425.5 feet, more or less, to
the center line of Sixth Street; thence westerly along
the center line of Sixth Street for a distance of
661.6 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning,
is hereby reclassified from the R-1 and R-3 Districts to the C-5
District and Sectional District Map 7-5-9 is hereby amended to show
said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit AA 486 A.
SECTION 2: That the real property in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Parcel 2: Beginning at that point on the center line of
Sixth Street located 661.6 feet, more or less, easterly
from that point where the center line of Sixth Street
intersects the center line of Grand Avenue; thence
northerly along a line approximately parallel to the
center line of Grand Avenue for a distance of 425.5
feet, more or less, said line being the easterly
boundary of Parcel 1 hereinabove described; thence
easterly along a line approximately parallel to the
center line of Sixth Street for a distance of 63 feet,
more or less; thence southerly along a line approximately
parallel to the center line of Grand Avenue for a
distance of 425.5 feet, more or less, to the center line
of Sixth Street; thence westerly along the center line
of Sixth Street for a distance of 63 feet, more or less,
to the point of beginning,
is hereby reclassified from the R-1 And R-3 Districts to the R-lB
District and Sectional District Map 7-5-9 is hereby amended to show
said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit AA 486 A.
SECTION 3: 'Chat this Ordinance shall take effect thirty
days from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of April, 1964.

the Council of the City of Santa Ana, California; that the foregoing
Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 16th day of March, 1964, and was again considered
by said Council at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of April,
1964, and at said meeting was regularly passed and adopted by said
council by the following vote, to wit:
