HomeMy WebLinkAboutNS-921ORDINANCE NS-921 DECLARING THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "GROVEMONT AND LINCOLN EAST ANNEX" TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA WHEREAS, heretofore, on April 15, 1968, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana declared its intention to annex uninhabited territory by Resolution 68-54, which said Resolution was regularly published as required by law and gave notice of protest hearing to be held on June 3, 1968, which hearing was regularly held; after final adjournment of said hearing on protests it was found and declared by Resolution 68-91 that a majority protest had not been made; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That it finds and declares that said territory, hereinbelow described, was uninhabited at the time Resolution 68-54 was adopted initiating this proceeding; was contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, and shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City existing at the time of this annexation. SECTION 2: That all of the territory situated in the County of Orange, State of California, described as: Commencing at the intersection of the center lines of Fairhaven Avenue and Glassell Street, said intersection being the southwest corner of Lot 13 in Block "D" of the A. B. Chapman Tract as laid out and surveyed by Frank Lecouvreur in 1870, as shown on a map recorded in Book 102, Page 15 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, and running thence South 89° 56' 00" West 84.50 feet, along the center line of Fairhaven Avenue, to the northwest corner of the land described as parcel one in deed to Johan Jacob Mueller, recorded July 24, 1897 in Book 31, Page 61 of Deeds, records of Los Angeles County, California; thence South 00° 04' 00" East along the West line of said land of Johan Jacob Mueller, a distance of 30.00 feet to the northwest corner of the land annexed to the City of Santa Ana by the Fairhaven and Glassell S. E. Annex, by Ordinance NS-735; thence South along the West boundary of the City of Santa Ana as annexed by Ordinance NS-735, a distance of 250.00 feet to an angle point in said City boundary and to the true point of beginning; thence departing from said City boundary, South along the southerly prolongation of said West boundary, a distance of 384.28 feet to the South line of that certain 7 acre parcel conveyed to W. W. Martin by deed recorded May 21, 1894 in Book 69 at Page 298 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence West along said South line 737.96 feet to the east boundary of the City of Santa Ana as annexed by the Lincoln and Virginia W. Annex, Ordinance NS-469; thence South along said City boundary as annexed by Ordinance NS-469, a distance of 160.34 feet to an angle point in said City boundary; thence West along said City boundary, a distance of 25.00 feet to an angle point. in the City boundary as annexed to the City of Santa Ana by 0rdinanc~ No. 73; thence South along said City boundary as annexed by Ordinance No. 73, a distance of 600.53 feet to the Northwest corner of Santa Clara and Lincoln, N. E. Annex, as annexed by Ordinance NS-542; thence East along the North line of said Santa Clara and Lincoln, N. E. Annex 799.92 feet to the northwest corner of the Grand Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue NW Annex as annexed by Reso- lution 65-71; thence East along the North line of said Grand Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue NW Annex, a distance of 467 feet, more or less, to the southwest corner of the Fairhaven and Glassell S. E. Annex, Ordinance NS-735; thence North 12° 46' West along said City boundary of the City of Santa Ana and along the West line of said Fairhaven and Glassell S. E. Annex 1220 feet to an angle point in said City boundary; thence West along said City boundary 240 feet to an angle point in said City boundary and to the true point of beginning. be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Aha and to Ward No. 1 in said City, and said annexation is by this Ordinance effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this territory, the designation that applies is "Santa Ana City - 1957 and 1958 Annexes". SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect'thirty days from and after the date of its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of June, 1968.
